Center for Complexity Studies Relaunches with New Leadership and Vision in Brașov

On February 20, 2025, the Center for Complexity Studies (CSC) in Brașov, Romania, marked a new chapter with a comprehensive restructuring and relaunch. During the General Assembly, members unanimously adopted a new organizational statute and elected a refreshed leadership team to guide the center through 2027.

Key Decisions and New Leadership

The newly approved structure introduces four key roles within the Board of Directors, each with a two-year mandate:

  • Honorary President: Florin Munteanu
    As Honorary President, Florin Munteanu will participate in strategic decisions and hold voting rights within the board, lending his extensive expertise and vision to the center’s future direction.
  • President of the Board of Directors: Emil Canciu
    Responsible for representing CSC in external relations, promoting its mission, and defining the main activity lines for the mandate period, in partnership with the Scientific Council.
  • Executive Director: Emil Zaharia-Kezdi
    In charge of CSC’s operational activities, financial management, and third-party relations.
  • General Secretary: Adrian Moleavin
    Oversees the management, administration, organization, and functioning of the association.

Scientific Council and Strategic Partnerships

The Scientific Council, led by Dr. Ing. Cornelia Munteanu, will set the direction for CSC’s research programs in line with current scientific trends. The council will also manage relationships with the European Commission and UNESCO, aiming to reintegrate CSC into the UNESCO Centers list and to define new partnership activities.

Sustainable Operation and Future Projects

The assembly established a mandatory annual membership fee to support CSC’s operational costs and invited members to propose new project ideas for the center’s future activities.

With a strengthened leadership team, renewed statute, and a clear focus on scientific excellence and international collaboration, the Center for Complexity Studies in Brașov is poised for a dynamic new phase, reaffirming its role as a leading think tank in complexity science and interdisciplinary research in Romania.
