International Conference “AI & Humanity” to Gather Global Thought Leaders in Bucharest

Bucharest will become the host of a global debate on artificial intelligence and its impact on society as the “AI & Humanity” conference convenes on May 8–9, 2025. Organized by Master Communications International in partnership with LeaderSpace, and supported by the European Academy, the Romanian Academy, and the Royal House of Romania, the event will bring together leading academics, technology experts, policymakers, and industry innovators from Romania and abroad.

A Prestigious Gathering of Minds

The conference will feature distinguished guests from renowned institutions such as the University of Oxford, King’s College London, Turku University, and leading companies including Nvidia, Google DeepMind, and ARESIA. Romanian success stories, financial institutions, public authorities, and media representatives will also participate, reflecting the event’s broad interdisciplinary scope.

Among the headline speakers is Dr. Ing. Florin Munteanu, Honorary President of the Center for Complexity Studies, who will deliver a presentation on the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and humanity. Dr. Munteanu is recognized for his visionary approach to cognitive artificial intelligence (I.A.C.), emphasizing its role as a tool for understanding complex and transdisciplinary realities. He advocates for the responsible and conscious use of AI, urging society to develop new frameworks for both opportunity and risk management.

Key Themes and Debates

The “AI & Humanity” conference will be streamed and archived online, ensuring global access to its discussions. The agenda addresses several pressing themes:

  • The general evolution of society under the impact of new technologies, including changes in human relationships, labor markets, and media manipulation.
  • Solutions and applications of AI across IT, cyber-security, healthcare, commerce, energy, education, and financial markets.
  • European and national legislation on AI usage.

This year’s event builds on the success of last June’s “The Challenge of AI” conference, which sparked significant interest and is documented with articles and video archives on the Master Communications website.

Strategic Collaboration and Royal Recognition

“AI & Humanity” is organized in collaboration with the Bucharest Regional Hub, representing the European Academy for Central and Eastern Europe—a strategic project established through an agreement between the European and Romanian Academies. The European Academy’s board will be present in the capital for the occasion, marking the launch of several major projects aimed at repositioning Romania on the global innovation map.

The conference will culminate in a high-level networking reception at Elisabeta Palace, hosted by the Royal House of Romania on May 10, coinciding with King’s Day. This exclusive event will bring together speakers, partners, and sponsors for further dialogue and collaboration.

Linking Past and Present: A Continuing Dialogue

Dr. Munteanu’s participation this year follows his impactful presentation at last year’s event, “The Challenge of AI,” where he explored the concept of cognitive artificial intelligence as an essential tool for transcending current societal impasses. He called for a new, transdisciplinary theoretical framework to address humanity’s complex crises, echoing Einstein’s insight that new solutions require new ways of thinking.

As the world faces unprecedented technological change, “AI & Humanity” promises to be a landmark event, offering a platform for critical reflection, collaboration, and the responsible advancement of artificial intelligence for the benefit of all.
